Hello. Thank you very much for your reply. I am considering AFS for for a project and I think it is just the thing I need, if I can get it to wrok. :)

First, before You replied, I managed to dig up AFS 1.1 from some internet archives. Amazingly the code that crashed 2.0.1 worked in 1.1. The second window opened and I was able to load some other .swf into it.

Anyway. I tried to download 2.1 Beta. The opening of new window still crashes, however External.getInstance().exit(); works nicely.

I see that the information I provided was a bit loose, so I'll try to describe more in depth what I am testing and my environment:

- I'm not using Flex, only pure Flash CS4.
- I created a ria.fla put a button on the stage and attached a document class.
- In Publish Settings/Flash/AS3 Settings/Library path I added "C:\Program Files\aSyncRIA\Async Flash Studio21b\sdk\framework\framework.swc"
- Published the .swf
- Created a new project in AFS with as default settings as possible
- Packaged and Run.
- The main window openes, I push the button and I get a nasty "An unhandled win32 exception occurred in ria21b.exe [256]. ..." and I don't have JIT Debugger blah blah...

Maybe I have some sort of file conflict that I have not yet figured out, I'll try to uninstall all other versions of AFS, but I do not believe this has much to do with the problem.

The logging still does not produce anything. Tried to create a subdirectory "logs" where the .exe file resides, did not help - but the logging is the least of my problems.

And again, If possible, provide intrinsic files. That will make any developer using FD happy. :)

Another question that pops to mind. Is there any way to catch the closing of the mail window, show a dialog "Are you sure you want to exit"? The same goes for child windows.
